Since 1993, the partners of Silber, Vasquez & Associates have specialized in coaching lawyers in how to obtain new clients. We are not only practice development coaches but also we are Life and Business Coaches. In our copy-written program, Legal Marketing from the Inside Out, developed over a twenty year period, we will teach you all the most effective and proven techniques in obtaining clients. You do not have to be a senior partner with many years of experience to attract excellent clients.
For seven months, we will be your personal marketing coaches until you master the techniques and until everything you learned has become a habit. You will learn the neuro-linguistic techniques that make the difference between attracting and repelling clients. We will show you how easy it can be to overcome any shyness you may have about meeting new people and being able to talk to them.
During the first month, you will receive seven hours of teaching and coaching. These sessions are entirely confidential and private with your own personal coach. Then once each month for the following six months, you will have a one-hour coaching session to be sure that you are implementing all you have learned and until being a Rainmaker has become a habit. Also you will receive your own Participant’s Manual. The sessions will be via Skype.

Lawyers, among other professionals, are excellent at practicing their chosen careers, but they are usually not very good at listening to their clients, networking and growing their practice. The traditional approach to law firm marketing has been to wait for satisfied clients to spread the word. Often law firms rely on a single well-connected partner to be the sole rainmaker while the other partners and the associates remain the worker bees buried in the law and paperwork.

Lawyers chose their profession for a wide range of reasons, from intellectual challenges to being good at problem solving. The part of being a lawyer they generally dislike is obtaining new clients – i.e. selling. That is why a superficial sales training program will typically not have any meaningful nor lasting effect on a lawyer. Every lawyer can be an excellent rainmaker, but each in his or her own way. We connect each lawyer to his or her core values so that the road they chose for their marketing activities stays with them and produces results over the long term.
We work with groups with an average of five participants at a time. We begin with a two-hour group session. Then, each participant has three private and confidential coaching sessions approximately one week apart. At the end of a month, we return for a final two hours session with the entire group. It is our preference, when possible, to work with partners and associates separately.
- At all levels in the law firm, every team member will be trained to participate in marketing at the maximum level of their capabilities.
- An increased sense of a common goal(s) will become more evident throughout the firm.
- Crops need time to grow before they can be harvested. Your new approach to marketing will result in more clients and more business when you give it time to work. There is no magic fix to marketing but the results will be measurable as well as magical to see.

Each lawyer will have his own personal coach. This will result in the lawyer finding his or her personal approach to marketing that is compatible with his or her core values. The end product will be a personal and highly individual marketing plan that will lead to an effective approach to bringing new business to the law firm.
Yes, even a junior lawyer should spend two hours per month in some form of marketing. This should increase to ten hours per week as they rise in the law firm and become a major rainmaking partner. Realistically, no one expects a junior lawyer to bring a major new client, although it happens on rare occasion. On the other hand, we provide our clients with a maturity checklist for the marketing activities they should be engaged in year by year as they progress from brand new law school graduate to partner. Relationships and Trust take time to develop and the time to start is when they begin practicing their profession. This way, when they are close to becoming partners, their prior marketing activities will begin paying dividends.
